Civil Engineering & Quantity Surveying

The Civil Engineering & Quantity Surveying Department offers three distinct and accredited programmes: Civil Engineering (CE), Construction Engineering Management (CEM), and Quantity Surveying (QS). Our CE and CEM programmes are accredited by the Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE) in the UK, while our QS programme holds accreditation from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). This accreditation ensures that our graduates are equipped with globally recognized qualifications, ready to excel in their respective fields.

Our innovative teaching methods and pedagogy promote a stimulating learning environment that encourages critical thinking, hands-on experience, and professional development.

Both conferences attracted significant media attention and brought together esteemed colleagues and experts from around the world, further enhancing the global standing of our department.

Geomatics Department

Geomatics Engineering Department provides Diploma and specialised short courses to Omani citizens for developing their technical abilities through advanced surveying & mapping techniques. The Diploma Program is validated by University of Portsmouth, UK and validation of Advanced Diploma is in progress. Unique aspect about this program is this is one of a kind in Oman and very few amongst GCC. Key focus areas include disciplines such as GIS, Land Surveying, Remote Sensing, Photogrammetry and Cartography. Geomatics students have excelled in Hackathon for Earth Observation in Oman, MOHERI Upgrade Program, NASA Hackathon for Space Applications and obtaining Undergraduate Research Grant from MOHERI to name few. This highlights the department’s role in developing Omani skillset by creating an inclusive environment where male-female students work as a team and bridge the gap by promoting respect and encourage diverse perspectives.

Aim:

This conference will serve as a platform for experts, researchers, and industry professionals in Construction Engineering and Geomatics to discuss innovative approaches and best practices that advance sustainable construction methods and infrastructure development. The conference will explore the integration of cutting-edge construction technologies, sustainable materials, and geospatial tools, aimed at creating resilient and resource-efficient built environments.

By bringing together leaders in the fields of construction management, digital transformation, and geomatics, the conference will foster collaboration and knowledge sharing, focusing on strategies to meet the demands of modern construction while minimizing environmental impact. Themes will cover smart cities, digital technologies like BIM, AI, sustainable materials, and environmental monitoring, paving the way for sustainable solutions in building the future.
