Visa Information for Visitors to Oman

Oman offers multiple entry routes depending on nationality, residence status, and travel purpose. Please review the categories below to determine your eligibility:

1. Visa-Free Entry

  • GCC Citizens (Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE):
    • No visa required.
    • Entry allowed with a valid passport or national ID.
  • Citizens of ~100 Countries (14-day stay) including:
    • Europe: EU/Schengen states, UK, Russia
    • Americas: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, etc.
    • Asia-Pacific: Japan, South Korea, China (incl. HK/Macau), Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore, etc.
    • Conditions: Must show hotel booking, return ticket, health insurance, and proof of funds.

2. Visa on Arrival (VOA)

    • Eligible for many nationalities such as USA, UK, EU, Canada, Australia, Japan, and others.
    • Valid for 30 days and extendable once.
    • Many of these nationalities may also apply for an eVisa instead of VOA.

3. GCC Resident Permit Holders (non-GCC citizens)

  • Nationals of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Philippines, Egypt, Jordan, and others with a valid GCC resident permit (minimum 6 months validity).
  • Eligible for VOA or eVisa.
  • Special Notes:
    • India & Pakistan: VOA/eVisa possible if holding valid US, UK, Schengen, Japan, or Canadian visas/residencies.
    • Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bhutan: Must obtain eVisa in advance, unless GCC residents.
    • Afghanistan: Only embassy-issued visas permitted.

  • Passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your arrival date, as required by the Royal Oman Police.
